If you've spent your entire career focused on getting tenure, you're not alone. But now that you've gotten tenure, new demands on your time will surface-for service, mentoring, and more. What can you expect in this new phase of your career, and how do you think about balancing new opportunities and obligations against existing research projects?
This Mid-Career Consortium seeks to create community because burnout and depression are surprisingly common but rarely discussed or revealed. We bring in senior scholars who will share their own experiences and perspectives, and answer your questions!
Workshop schedule:
9:00 - 9:30 Intros and breakfast – Introduce yourselves and tell us what you're interested in
9:30 - 10:15 Panel discussion – hear from our incredible panelists
10:15 - 11:00 Small breakout group discussions with panelists
11:00 - 11:15 Break
11:15 - 12:00 Regroup, report back, wrap up
We hope to see you there!
