Creativity and innovation are interrelated and mutually reinforcing. Yet, despite their relatedness, micro-level creativity research and organizational-level innovation research have evolved largely independently, resulting in distinct approaches to the understanding of creativity and innovation. Over the years, this has led to the development of parallel streams of research with too little cross-talk.
To stimulate cross-talk between the disciplines and better connect the creativity and innovation literatures, Goran Calic, Pedro de Faria, Christoph Grimpe, Olli-Pekka Kauppila, and Bernard Nijstad have organized a panel symposium at AOM. The symposium is sponsored by the TIM division. Panelists are Pino Audia, Markus Baer, Paola Criscuolo, and Riitta Katila. The symposium is on Monday, August 7, 10 - 11.30 am.
This panel symposium is also connected to a special issue in Research Policy, for which we invite submissions. The submission system will open on October 1, 2023 and manuscripts received through November 30, 2023 (Midnight, GMT) will receive full consideration on a rolling basis. The call for papers can be found here:
