    We're hiring at Cork University Business School, University College Cork with two permanent posts in Business Information Systems. These are two exciting new roles aligned with the UCC Futures AI & Data Analytics research prioritization initiative. The Lecturer Below the Bar post is more a very early career post while the Above the Bar post would expect demonstrated evidence of strong journal publication outputs, teaching and examining experience and service contributions. 

    The Lecturer (Below the Bar) in Business Information Systems will demonstrate a track record of relevant research and teaching experience. Candidates should identify their research outputs to date and demonstrate their ongoing potential to publish in leading international journals (3 and 4 star ranked journals by the Chartered Association of Business Schools are preferred), and whose research will be aligned with the United Nations SDGs. Candidates must also demonstrate their experience and/or potential in delivering high quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates with teaching and research experience in any area of Information Systems are encouraged to apply. Tangible experience in the teaching of programming languages, eg: Python, is an advantage.

    The Lecturer (Above the Bar) in Business Information Systems will have a PhD in relevant discipline and demonstrate a track record of relevant research and teaching experience. Candidates will have successfully published in journals of international standing and demonstrate clear potential to do so (publications in the 3 and 4 star ranked journals by the Chartered Association of Business Schools are preferred). Additionally, candidates should be able to demonstrate that they have developed an interest in the area of Gen AI and its implications for business, across a range of industries and activities. Candidates must also demonstrate their experience and/or potential in delivering high quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates with teaching and research experience in any area of Information Systems are encouraged to apply. Candidates should set out how their research may contribute to UCC Futures Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics and/or the school's proposed new strategic research centre on the Future of Work and Economies.
