Call for Proposals:
Disability in the Workplace: Theoretical and Practical Considerations
The aim of this new series is to compile and explore existing and research on disability and chronic health conditions in the context of work and employment. We aim to offer contributions that, combined, will bridge research and practice as well as a range of disciplines. The publisher is DeGruyter Academic Publishing.
Disability research is an interdisciplinary space, drawing from management, human resources, legal studies, disability studies, vocational rehabilitation and rehabilitation psychology, occupational health psychology, economics, and medicine.
We encourage a range of work, including individual research monographs, books that draw together findings from larger-scale research programs involving multiple contributors from different organizations and institutions, and monographs that highlight important disciplinary aspects from selected foundational disciplines as listed above.
The primary audience is academic researchers. Submissions should include practical implications, but the series is primarily directed to an academic market.
The series editors are Joy Beatty (jbeatty9@emich.edu) and Alyssa McGonagle (amcgonag@charlotte.edu). Beatty is a Professor of Management at Eastern Michigan University with research interests in disability and chronic illness (see link). McGonagle is an Associate Professor of Psychological Science and Organizational Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (see link).
