    AI: from Harvard to Vancouver

Thanks to all of you who contributed to AI conference at Harvard University. This conference gathered members of MCD and AOM's OCIS division (Organizational Communication and Information Systems) on August 8th 2019. The conference was managed by the "AI-IM" research network and management institute. Leading experts from OCIS and MCD including Eric Sanders, Uzonna Olumba and Daniel Degravel, provided talks about the latest developments in AI and the way it impacts both organizations and management consulting. The afternoon was then devoted to round tables including the specific practices of consulting related to implementation issues and the way AI changes both consulting and consultants.

What are the next steps for our AI / MC community? Preparing the pre-AOM conference in Vancouver, and why not submitting a PDW like the one that was also accepted last year in Boston

  • Thank you, MC!

As I await my flight back to Colorado, I find myself extremely grateful for the wonderful papers and workshops our division had the honor to present, the old and new friends I was privileged to see this week, and the hard work of the MC Executive Committee and volunteers, as well as the Academy staff.  It's been an honor to serve you and I look forward to working with the new Division Chair, Eric Sanders, in a supporting role.  MC truly is the home of practice, a multi-generational division that welcomes newcomers with open arms.  As we disperse to our respective homes and think about our next projects, I wish you fair winds and following seas.

    See you in Vancouver!

Best- Tonya Henderson, Past Chair, MC Division
