The Management Consulting Division (MCD) of the Academy of Management is pleased to announce a Call for Applications for three appointed leadership positions on the Division Board.
These roles provide meaningful opportunities to contribute to the Division's mission - advancing the theory and practice of management consulting, fostering collaboration between scholars and practitioners, and supporting the development of our global community.
Scholar-in-Residence
The Scholar-in-Residence plays a key role in strengthening the Division's intellectual core and advancing the integration of research, teaching, and practice.

Serve as a conduit for communication with members focused on research and scholarship.

Coordinate the Learning Labs and other developmental initiatives.

Support the development of scholarly sessions and PDWs at the Annual Meeting, in collaboration with the Program Chair, PDW Chair, and Doctoral Consortium Coordinator.

Contribute to advancing and disseminating new knowledge in consulting.
Profile:
Strong academic background in management consulting or related fields; experience in research, teaching, or mentoring; and a collaborative approach bridging scholarly and practical perspectives.
Practitioner / Consultant-in-Residence
The Practitioner / Consultant-in-Residence represents practitioner and executive perspectives, ensuring a strong connection between consulting practice and academic insight.

Serve as a liaison for communication with practitioner and executive members.

Collaborate with the Program Chair and PDW Chair to develop sessions and PDWs addressing practitioner interests.

Strengthen the Division's relationships with external practitioner networks.

Contribute practitioner-relevant insights for Division communications.
Profile:
Substantial consulting or executive experience, strong communication and networking skills, and interest in connecting professional practice with academic inquiry.
Division Secretary
The Division Secretary supports the Division Chair and Executive Committee in coordinating activities, maintaining communication flow, and ensuring continuity across leadership operations.

Prepare and share short notes before and after leadership meetings.

Track key action items and maintain a shared calendar of Division and AOM deadlines.

Keep essential documents organized and accessible.

Support communication within the leadership team and with the wider membership.
Profile:
Organized, reliable, and proactive; strong written communication in English; comfortable with coordination and documentation; and collaborative in handling internal matters.
