Who?
DIR welcomes junior faculty who are in their first three years on the job, post-docs, and doctoral students who are in their final two years.

The PDW is broken into a virtual and in-person component to support junior scholars as they contemplate their market/career opportunities in 2024 and beyond.

  1. The in-person session in Chicago (open to all, no registration required) will feature presentations and networking opportunities for facilitators and attendees. The topic of the 12th DIR is “leading yourself in academia”, and the keynote speaker is Sue Ashford. Sue's talk will be followed by a panel with Erik Gonzalez-Mule (Indiana University), Nathan Pettit (New York University), Naomi Rothman (Lehigh University), and Sim Sitkin (Duke University).

  1. Personalized Feedback Sessions (registration required): Registrants will be paired with an influential scholar and 2-3 other registrants for a friendly chat and feedback on their individual portfolios. These personalized sessions may be held in Chicago or virtually before or after the conference at the convenience of the facilitating scholar and their designated registrants. Participants who complete this session receive an MOC division “Bright Diamonds” certificate. Registration link: https://iu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2uzirOzierlnF8a
