2019 OMT Membership Group Chair (OMG) Report
Emily Block, Alberta School of Business
OMG Chair

It was an exciting year for OMT on the off-programming front. We had a record 35 off-program sessions!  Of course we  included all the usual staples (OMT Runs, Yoga, Eats, Drinks, Cafes and the famous OMT After Party). But we also had a few new ideas. We rolled out the first annual OMT Serves, where we made possible over 4000 meals for seniors in the greater Boston Area with the help of the Boston Food Bank.  We introduced cross-division mixers – co-hosting events with ONE, MOC and OB. We even went rock climbing.  And for the first time, other divisions began to copy our off programming – developing their own calendar of activities.

I want to thank all the people who made the OMT Off-Program such a big success. And I want to ask for all your help to keep innovating new and exciting ways to make OMT the Place to Be. As you begin to think about your AOM submissions, please consider also contributing an event to our off program.  You can:

  1. Organize a cafe around a theory, setting, methodology or even career stage
  2. Find a place to eat or drink and open it up for a few new friends to join
  3. Host an activity like running, walking, museums, comedy, bowling, biking.....
  4. Join forces with a friend from another division to organize a mixer
  5. ANYTHING ELSE

We will organize these events around your schedule and promote them for you!  If you are interested, send me an email.

See you in Vancouver!
