We welcome you to our 2019 GRDO SIG 5 at the European Academy of Management. This year, in addition to our 17 competitive paper sessions in three tracks, we have three exciting SIG sessions and one SIG social event, and an election:
- Kick-off session: June 26th, Ala Autonoma/Room AA3.29, 9:00-10:30.
- will provide opportunity to review our SIG activities during 2018-2019, recognize the contributions of our SIG officers and track chairs, solicit nominations for 2019-2020 SIG officers, and present a highlight of our 2019 conference events and our social even on Thursday, June 27. This session is held at ISCTE -
- SIG Plenary: June 27th, Ala Autonoma/Room AA3.29, 17:30-18:30,
- Managing Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Diversity: A Review and Outlook

- This keynote presentation will provide a structured overview of the state of management- and organizational research on sexual orientation and gender identity. Furthermore, the plenary discusses delineations and evaluations of organizational initiatives and practices aiming at achieving a higher degree of inclusion for transgender, gay, lesbian, and bisexual employees. A particular emphasis will be placed on the situation LGBT-employees are facing in newly industrialized and developing countries. The plenary will conclude with suggestions for future research aiming at understanding the impact and modus operandi of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia on the workplace in more depth.
- GRDO SIG 5 Social event: June 27th, 19:30-22:30. GRDO SIG will provide dinner and drinks. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. Due to limited space, you must make reservations by contacting kazeroony2@mail.waldenu.edu. This event is on first come first serve basis. Therefore, we ask that you let us know ASAP. The venue where we are holding the event will be closed to cater just to us. So, please do not wait and make your reservations now.
- SIG 5 closing session: Ala Autonoma/Room AA3.29, 17:30 - 18:30.
- will wrap up our annual event with election of new officers, soliciting proposals for new tracks and symposia for 2020, providing an opportunity to work with Routledge to publish books, advancing our SIG collaborative work. We encourage you to review the attached GRDO SIG election announcement and we invite our membership to help us carry our mission by becoming engaged in our election.
