Title: Sustainable Work Practices for Optimising Work-Family Integration in India.
India is an ever-so interesting site of exploration for work-family (WF) interface due to its unique cultural underpinnings, rapid economic transitions, and a large working population. Prior to the pandemic, remote work was not a widely used practice (Kossek & Lautsch, 2018). However, with the "de-facto global experiment" on remote work that the pandemic has inadvertently necessitated, we have practiced remote work more than ever. This has come with its own set of challenges and opportunities. In this symposium (read guidelines here), we plan to put together these challenges, grounded in the Indian cultural, social, familial, economic realities to understand the new opportunities the pandemic has created for us to create sustainable work practices that can be utilized to optimize work-family integration.
We are inviting submissions, specific to the Indian context from multiple perspectives for the upcoming Academy of Management Conference (Aug 5-9, 2022) in Seattle, USA. The themes/topics can include but are not restricted to the following: Occupational Health psychology, gender studies, organizational team/culture management/leadership, ICT use, Culture studies and intervention/policy studies.
We are inviting submissions in the form of research papers, policy documents and case studies. At this time, we ask you to indicate the following to us:
