Colleagues,
I am looking for presenters for a symposium and/or PDW who have an interest in disability in the classroom and improving learning for students with disabilities. The submission will go to the MED division and therefore needs to highlight teaching issues.
So far, I've received several examples of course and program redesign, as well as steps faculty have taken to adjust to their own disabilities. These are practical applications, suggesting a possible PDW to share and learn about how to better serve students and faculty with disabilities.
Have you redesigned a course or program, adopted some assistive tech, or experienced opportunities/challenges related to disabilities in the classroom? If so, and if you have room on your AOM PDW schedule, please email me.
I've also received some examples of empirical research on faculty with disabilities and programs that universities are designing to improve learning for specific disability populations, which could be a presenter symposium. I could use one or two more topics like this to build a symposium.
Do you have conceptual or empirical work related to disability in the classroom, students with disabilities, or faculty with disabilities? If so contact me,
