Call for Applications for OBHR PhD Program at the University of Pittsburgh
The Organizational Behavior and Human Resources (OBHR) PhD Program in the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh will be accepting applications for the Fall 2024 Ph.D. cohort.
The OBHR Area is home to faculty and research centers conducting leading research in Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory, and Human Resource Management. Members of our faculty include Richard Burgess, Gary Florkowski, Carrie Leana, David Lebel, Audrey Murrell, Frits Pil, and Trevor Young-Hyman. Our faculty serve in editorial positions and on the editorial boards of leading journals and hold leadership positions within the Academy of Management. We have diverse methodological expertise in field research, survey research, experimental methods, and qualitative interview-based and ethnographic methods. Our faculty lead several research centers including the Center for Healthcare Management and the Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership.. Doctoral students have opportunities to access additional research support and funding through these centers as well as the Pitt Dean's Seed Grant Awards and the University of Pittsburgh Office of Research Awards.
Our doctoral program seeks to provide students with strong mentorship. Doctoral students co-author research articles with faculty, work with faculty on data collection and analysis, and join in sponsored research projects.
Graduates of our program have been placed in faculty positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Illinois-Chicago, Imperial College, Clemson University, and Rochester Institute of Technology, among other universities.
