Are you using qualitative methods in your dissertation? If so, would you like…
- To maximize the publication potential of your dissertation?
- To ensure you are properly and appropriately using qualitative methods in your research?
- Guidance on analyzing and/or writing up your qualitative data?
- Insight into approaching the job market with a qualitative or mixed-methods dissertation?
"Navigating Qualitative Dissertations: Advice from the Experts" is a Professional Development Workshop aimed at providing doctoral candidates performing dissertations that incorporate qualitative methods (i.e., mixed-method or purely qualitative dissertations) with focused and personalized feedback from experienced qualitative researchers. This session will include intimate roundtable discussions tailored to participants' dissertations. It will also include more general roundtable discussions addressing topics of broader interest to bourgeoning qualitative scholars including crafting an identity as a qualitative researcher, the benefits and challenges of qualitative research, and publishing qualitative work. There will be panel discussion by faculty experts, and we will also provide an opportunity for doctoral students to network with established qualitative scholars.
This workshop is now in its sixth year at AOM's annual conference and features a diverse mix of scholars with experience in a variety of qualitative methods and expertise in an array of topics.
We are proud to have the following distinguished scholars facilitating this year (in alphabetical order):
Jean Bartunek, Tammy Beck, Marya Besharov, Shelley Brickson, Teresa Cardador, Curtis Chan, Kevin Corley, Katy DeCelles, Julia DiBenigno, Martha Feldman, Lyndon Garrett, Ashley Hardin, Spencer Harrison, Elaine Hollensbe, Shalini Khazanchi, Glen Kreiner, Jamie Ladge, Kisha Lashley, Christi Lockwood, Melissa Mazmanian, Carrie Oelberger, Jennifer Petriglieri, Katie Pine, Tommaso Ramus, Trish Reay, Kristie Rogers, Beth Schinoff, and Heather Vough.
