Call for Papers – Special Issue of Personnel Review
Reimagining Global Work: How IHRM Research Evolves in an Increasingly Uncertain Era
Submission Deadline: November 30, 2025
Dear Colleagues,
We are delighted to invite submissions for a forthcoming special issue of Personnel Review focused on the evolving landscape of international human resource management (IHRM) in an era marked by uncertainty and transformation.
Background:
As global work continues to shift in response to technological advances, geopolitical tensions, and changing workforce expectations, multinational enterprises must rethink and recalibrate their IHRM strategies to remain effective and competitive. This special issue seeks to advance scholarly understanding of how IHRM practices are adapting-and should adapt-to meet these emerging challenges.
We welcome contributions that explore novel theoretical insights, empirical findings, and practical implications. While the following topics illustrate key areas of interest, submissions addressing other relevant aspects of global work are also encouraged.
Suggested Topics Include:
- Managing virtual international assignments
- The rise of digital nomads and remote global workers
- Geopolitical disruptions and their influence on IHRM policies and practices
- IHRM challenges and innovations in developing or emerging economies
