Dear Colleagues,
Along with increasing public attention to gender inequalities in workplace settings, more quantitative research is needed to fully understand gender disparities in hiring outcomes.
We are currently conducting a meta-analysis of field experiments (e.g., audit studies) examining gender discrimination in hiring decisions. We are seeking unpublished studies to complement our sample of published studies.
If you have conducted a study on gender discrimination in hiring that is not yet published in a scientific journal and meets the below criteria, please contact Michael Schaerer, Department of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources, Singapore Management University (schaerer@smu.edu.sg).
The studies should meet the following criteria:
-Field experiment with actual hiring decisions (e.g., audit study or correspondence study that sends fictitious applications to real job openings of has pairs of actors apply in person)
-Gender was randomly manipulated (either within or between organization)
-Call-back rate or likelihood of interview invitation (or similar outcome) was recorded
-We are NOT interested in laboratory experiments
-We are NOT interested in observational field studies without random assignment to candidates of different genders
Thank you in advance!
