Around the world, in many cultural traditions, contemplation and dialogue about the sacred are core to sustaining nourishing, vital communities. Such a connection to the sacred can be deeply valuable for diversity, equity, and inclusion in all cultures. Join us online to learn about how this has been important in Maori culture and how those of us from other cultures can draw upon their wisdom as we live with and practice within our own traditions.

    Contemplating Together Across Cultures

    Thursday, 18 July 2024

4:00-5:30 pm PT [USA] / 7:00-8:30 pm ET [USA] / 8:00-9:30 pm Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro / Friday, 19 July, morning – check times - Sydney, Auckland, Tokyo

    Meeting ID: 896 1688 7046

    Passcode: breathe!

Ella Henry, an Indigenous Māori woman from Aotearoa New Zealand and Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Business School at Auckland University of Technology, will share the cultural values and practices that underpin Māori society and which provide a spiritual foundation for the renaissance of Māori culture and language over the last fifty years.

This session is one of a series of quarterly gatherings sponsored by the MSR Division focused on a selected practice, each time from a different cultural and spiritual tradition from around the world. Attendees learn about the practice, experience that practice, and then reflect together regarding how personal experiences of this and other spiritual practices nourish them.

There are no prerequisites or expectations as to previous experience or knowledge. All are invited to taste these practices and dialogue together!

So sorry, Laura! Thanks for writing!

We had to decide whether to schedule in a way that works for both Europe and the West Coast of North America, or to include Australia and New Zealand. Not good to have to chose, but since most of the MSR Division sessions have been scheduled in what is early morning West Coast time (and impossible or difficult for Australia/New Zealand), we chose this time. We will try to get a good recording and post it for those who cannot attend.
