    Dear AOM DEI Colleagues,

Warm greetings from the AOM DEI Division!

As part of our 2026 initiatives, we are pleased to announce a new programme: "The 4-Page Challenge: Get Expert Feedback on Your Research." This initiative is particularly intended to support early-career researchers and scholars who may have limited access to mentoring support in their institutional or regional contexts.

We will be hosting a virtual DEI Research Clinic, bringing together experienced DEI scholars who have generously agreed to serve as mentors. The format of the programme is outlined below.

    Submission and review process

    • Prospective participants are invited to submit a maximum four-page overview of their DEI research.
    • Submissions must be formatted in 12-point Times New Roman, 1.5-spaced, with standard margins, and submitted in Word format.
    • The document must be grammatically sound and clearly written. Submissions with persistent grammatical errors may be desk rejected.
    • The first page should include a clear paper title, author name(s), and institutional affiliation(s).
    • Submissions should follow AOM reference style for both in-text citations and the reference list.
    • The four-page limit includes references, tables, and figures.
    • The submission should clearly articulate the research purpose, theoretical framing, data and methods, and intended contribution.
    • Submissions that do not meet these formal and quality criteria will receive a desk rejection to ensure an efficient and fair review process.

Submissions that meet the criteria will be matched with an appropriate mentor. Selected participants will receive a 45-minute virtual feedback session, and mentors will contact participants directly to arrange the meeting.

To support smooth coordination and a fair distribution of submissions, members of the DEI team will serve as regional coordinators, acting as the initial point of review before submissions are forwarded to mentors. Given the anticipated volume of submissions, desk rejection decisions will be communicated by email and should be regarded as final. The coordinators will not be able to provide individual feedback or respond to follow-up enquiries regarding desk-rejected submissions.

Regional coordinators (please email your submission directly to the appropriate coordinator)

This call is open until August 1, 2026.

We hope this initiative will provide a supportive and collegial space for advancing DEI scholarship within the AOM community. We warmly encourage eligible members to consider submitting their work and taking advantage of this opportunity.

    Warmest regards,
    Yuka Fujimoto
