The AOM 2020 conference opened yesterday, and I hope you are engaging with and enjoying the many live and recorded sessions that are (and will be) available.
I also invite you to join the GDO plenary on Monday August 10, from 12:00 to 13:15 EDT. The information is below, and I've attached bios for our three panelists.
GDO Plenary: Diversity and Inclusion in the COVID-19 Era (session 291)
The first six month of 2020 have brought significant changes in global health, social, and economic conditions. The COVID-19 pandemic required swift changes in workplace policies and practices, and prompted job loss and economic distress that will continue into the foreseeable future. In late May, the killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis Police Officer ignited anti-racism protests and growing global awareness of structural barriers faced by people of color. In the context of these dramatic social changes, here we discuss how diversity and inclusion concerns and opportunities shape our current social context.
Our panelists are diversity officers representing corporations, non-profits, and universities who will discuss how diversity and inclusion ideas have informed their efforts to manage the new situations we face.
- Sadaf Parvaiz, EY Canada, Director - Americas Diversity and Inclusiveness Center of Excellence
- Queenie Choo, CEO of SUCCESS, an immigrant settlement and social service organization in British Columbia, Canada
- Martin Davidson, Senior Associate Dean and Global Chief Diversity Officer, Darden Business School
Additional details about each speaker are in the attached file.
Our panel will last 75 minutes with time for audience questions, and the session is being recorded for those who are unable to attend.
