Three panelists representing corporate, non-profit, and academic domains will discuss how the covid-19 pandemic and the recent #BLM and anti-racism efforts are influencing their diversity and inclusion efforts. Panelists are Sadaf Parvaiz, Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, EY Canada; Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S which focuses on immigrant services, senior care, and affordable housing; and Martin Davidson, Senior Associate Dean and Global Chief Diversity Officer at University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Tips, Tricks, and New Ideas for Approaching Diversity and Inclusion in the Classroom (#10333) Friday August 7, 2:00 – 4:00PM EDTDue in part to growing heterogeneity in student populations and important societal events such as #BlackLivesMatter, #MeToo and #Time'sUp movements, this session aims to foster ideas for teaching "hot topics" related to D&I. Participants will learn how to translate D&I research for classroom materials, create teachable moments from current events, and gain tips on transferring D&I topics from the physical to the virtual classroom.

GDO Celebration of Excellence (#22298) Monday August 10, 7:00 – 8:30 PMDivision Chair Alison Sheridan will share results of the division's recent feedback report and our annual award winners will be honoured. A highlight for this year's Celebration will be hearing from our award winners through a series of three-minute lightening presentations of what motivated their papers, providing a mini Tales from the Script. We also welcome members to stay on after the formal parts of the session, for an informal catch up with colleagues.
