September virtual events hosted by the Kauffman Foundation:
Entrepreneurship Issue Forum Join us Thursday, September 23 at 10 a.m. CT for the Entrepreneurship Issue Forum, "Diversifying the Entrepreneurship Research 'Pipeline': Emerging Learnings from 2020 Knowledge Challenge Grantees." In our 2020 Knowledge Challenge RFP, we piloted an investment in five projects that seek to increase diversity in the pipeline of researchers who study entrepreneurship. In this forum, we will hear updates from these five project teams who have increased mentorship and networking opportunities, developed innovative curricula, and brought communities and researchers together in close conversation in an effort to increase the range of perspectives and experiences informing entrepreneurship research.
Speakers will give an overview of their initiatives and the research that informed their approach. They will then join a roundtable discussion, examining important questions such as:
What is working (and what isn't) in our efforts to diversify the research 'pipeline'?
- Why is diversity and inclusion in knowledge creation necessary?
- What impacts the sustainability of this work?
Participants include:
Rachel Atkins, New York University Melissa Brown-Sims, #BlackTechFutures Research Institute Henry McKoy, North Carolina Central University Anil Nair, Old Dominion University Roderick S. Snipes, Borough of Manhattan Community College Fallon Wilson, #BlackTechFutures Research Institute
