    [apologies for cross-posting]

We invite you to participate in our PDW to discuss and share best practices promoting greater gender equality in business and management schools and higher education overall. The PDW is organized by partners of the EQUAL4EUROPE project (https://equal4europe.eu), which has the goal to develop gender equality plans in the fields of Art, Humanities, Medicine, Social Sciences, Business & Management, and Law (AHMSSBL). More specifically, the EU-funded project focuses on developing and implementing tailored gender equality plans in 6 partner universities in order to realize sustainable cultural and institutional change. The project has assessed the gender situation in all partner universities and will create a network of gender equality officers from the social science fields. The project will also develop free knowledge, tools, and best practices.

The online workshop consists of 2 parts:

    1. A panel discussion focusing on the challenges and opportunities in developing solutions for combating inequality in higher education. Panelists will share their experience and challenges of the EQUAL4EUROPE project within their institution.
    2. The second part consists of 4 roundtables where panelists and attending participants discuss different thematic areas, share their insights, critiques, and institutional challenges into the respective topics and particularly discuss possible solutions and measure fostering gender equality in academia. The round tables will be lead each by one of the panelists.

    The 4 roundtables focus on:

    1. Does gender matter? Addressing gender in management research and teaching (a practical approach).
    2. Experience and challenges in assessing the gender situation in your institution: 'If we are not measuring it, we are not doing it.'
    3. Internal networking for gender equality: How to find supporters and allies in your institution to implement gender equality plans and promote gender equality.
    4. Possible solutions and measures fostering gender equality in academia.

        Panelists are:

        • Dr Janka Kottulova, Comenius University
        • Dr Joana Vassilopoulou, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University
        • Prof Hanneke Takkenberg, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University
