    Esade Business School –Ramon Llull University (Barcelona Spain) has opened the selection process for the coverage of 1 position to support research, as a

    Postdoctoral researcher

    in the field of mental health and well-being in the workplace.

    The successful candidate will work closely together with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Laura Guillén (https://www.esade.edu/faculty/laura.guillen) and will join a highly active research environment. The post-doctoral research will be part of Leadership Development Research Centre- GLEAD (https://www.esade.edu/faculty-research/en/leadership-development-research-centre).

    Project description:

    The United Nations has recently warned against the long-term effects of the pandemic on the number and severity of mental health problems that could affect generations to come. Our research project revolves around the topic of mental health in organizations. We adopt a multi-method approach to provide new insights on how to improve mental health in the workplace.

    Functions:

    The tasks to be carried are as follows:

    • Participate in the research group activities and research projects
    • Develop theory and conduct literature reviews
    • Assist with data collection and data analysis
    • Attend academic conferences and workshops
    • Support writing academic articles targeted to top-tier journals

    Profile requirements:

    It is essential that the candidate holds a PhD in psychology, management, sociology, economics, computer science, information systems or a related field.

    Being able to speak Spanish is not essential for the position.

     We are looking for a researcher with experience in collecting data through secondary data sources, surveys and interviews. The researcher should also have proven skills and quantitative and qualitative data analyses. Previous academic research related to operations management and human resource management will be positively valued, as will experience knowledge about gig economy and worker well-being.

    Capacity for autonomous organization of workload and adaptation to circumstances and potentially time pressure are necessary, as well as a strong sense of responsibility, and adherence to deadlines.

    At the moment of recruitment, the candidate must comply with the following requirements:

    • Be under 30 years of age
    • Be unemployed and registered as a job-seeker on the Catalan Job Service (SOC)*
    • Must not have carried out research activities at the Ramon Llull University (URL) in the previous six months.

    We offer:

    The full-time position is based at the Esade's Sant Cugat campus (a short metro ride outside the city of Barcelona, Spain), with an annual salary of €30.000 (gross) for a duration of 24 months. There will be no teaching duties.

    The starting date for the position is negotiable but no later than 1st of December 2022.
