Dear GDO members
Sponsorship for our GDO events is vital to support the important work of our Division. It is how we can continue to provide events to recognise the great achievements of our members, support our early career members, and also create spaces for the wider GDO community to come together throughout the conference.
Previous experience has shown that sponsorship by members' universities has been a valuable support to our ongoing activities. Boston will be a costly event location, so the more we can raise to support the GDO events, the more we can do this year and into the future.
To this end, below is a draft of a request for sponsorship you may find useful to adapt to direct to your own university to sponsor the GDO events in 2019. Any support that you are able to garner will be greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions, please contact either myself (asherida@une.edu.au) or GDO Treasurer Lex Washington (lex.washington@okstate.edu).
Regards Alison
Dear x,
As a member of the Gender and Diversity in Organizations (GDO) Division of the U.S. Academy of Management, I am writing to request partial support from our School for the division's events to be held at the conference in Boston, MA in August this year. The events include networking events as well as activities in support of doctoral students and junior faculty. A contribution in any amount from our School would be welcomed; in the past most supporter schools have contributed in the range of $500-2000.
Our support will be recognized in the following ways:
- we will be announced and displayed as a contributor at all GDO Division conference networking/social events
- we will be recognized and thanked at the division business meeting
Additionally, recognition of support in the amount of $1000 and above will include display of logo (as provided by us) on all printed GDO conference publications, electronic media and the GDO website as well as a formal letter of appreciation recognizing our school's help in advancing the goals of the division. Actual transfer of the contribution is normally expected by June 1, however, the timing of the contribution can be accommodated (such as due to budget year concerns).
Our support of GDO allows our School to show a clear interest and support of issues of diversity and inclusion. It also signals to D&I scholars that we are an institution that welcomes scholars from all backgrounds. I think this is really an important issue and we know this is important to AACSB. Again, any support from our School toward the GDO Division would be wonderful. Please let me know if this request is feasible this year.
I thank you for your time and consideration of my request.
Sincerely
