    Colleagues,
I am passing along a survey request for a topic that is relevant to the GDO domain, regarding the child care experiences of academic parents. They are particularly interested in parents of children under 5 years old.
I know we all get a lot of survey requests these days. Please take a moment to offer your input if you can.
    ------
We are inviting you to participate in an online survey on your experiences with child care since it is an important issue for academic parents and their families across the United States. This survey is part of a graduate student thesis project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Department of Urban Studies and Planning working to understand the costs of unmet or inadequate child care needs among faculty, post-doctoral fellows, researchers, students, staff and other employees with children under 5 in academic institutions across the United States.

The survey gathers information about your experiences with child care within and outside your academic institution in order to help us characterize the availability and accessibility of child care and calculate the many costs that are associated with it.

Information about your experiences as an academic parent is important to helping shape child care policies at academic institutions and across cities and states, more broadly. Please click the link below to access a short (less than 10 minute) survey about your experiences with child care. Feel free to share this survey with other academic parents you may know at your academic institution.

    TAKE THE SURVEY

This survey is voluntary and the results are completely anonymous and confidential. You may answer as few or as many questions as you wish. For the purposes of analysis, data from other sources may be combined with the responses you provide. The results will be shared as part of a publicly-available master's thesis and will be synthesized as an online policy brief with data visualizations.

If you have any questions about this research, please do not hesitate to reach out to Kavya Vaghul at kvaghul@mit.edu
