The Sauder School of Business at UBC is seeking PhD students who are interested in visiting the Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources division to collaborate on research with faculty, post-docs, and PhD students. Visiting students will collaborate with a faculty mentor initiating research with the aim of publishing high-impact work. The duration of the visiting appointment is flexible and can range from 2 weeks to 4 months, depending on the nature of the project. Students may be able to audit as an unregistered student divisional PhD courses if they would like to stay for a full semester.
The application process is competitive and up to four visiting positions will be awarded for the 2019/2020 academic year. The ideal applicant will be a currently-enrolled PhD student at the ABD stage in Organizational Behaviour (Micro or Macro) or a related field (e.g., Management, Human Resources, Organization Theory, Organization Science, Strategy, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Family Business, I/O Psychology, Sociology, Industrial Relations, and Economics).
Applicants should identify areas of mutual research interest with current faculty members before applying, and be as specific as possible about the proposed research in the application.

Visiting students have the opportunity to work with a group of active scholars in the field, advance their own research programs, and network with other scholars throughout the Sauder School of Business and other departments at UBC. Successful applicants will receive a stipend to help offset travel related expenses such as roundtrip airfare and accommodation and, in some cases, some research expenses. In addition, they will have access to office space and library access. They will join the vibrant intellectual community at UBC.

July 31, 2019: Deadline for interested applicants to send a cover letter to Nancy Tang (nancy.tang@sauder.ubc.ca) describing their general research interests & a CV to request a meeting during the August 2019 Academy of Management Meetings in Boston. We will meet with a limited number of applicants during the Academy meetings. Requesting such a meeting is not mandatory to apply, but recommended if you are attending.
August 23, 2019: Deadline to submit full application to Nancy Tang (nancy.tang@sauder.ubc.ca). Please include a short statement of proposed activities (2-3 pages), 1-2 letters of reference, and an updated CV. Your statement should include the mentor(s) with whom you would like to work, a short proposal or outline of the project, a proposed timeline for the visit, and a budget should additional research funds be requested.
