Dear fellow GDOers,
First, a sincere thanks to all of you who are busy reviewing submissions for the 2017 program – we couldn't do what we do without the collective contributions of all who generously volunteer their time, so thank you!
Speaking of participating in the production of great things for the Academy, I'm writing to remind you that we are currently soliciting nominations for the Division Program Chair-elect position as well as for positions for GDO's Executive Committee. The Program Chair-elect position represents the first role in a 5-year leadership cycle that includes being the PDW Chair, Program Chair, Division Chair-elect, Division Chair, and Past Division Chair. Yes, that's a total of 5 years, but it's a great opportunity in so many ways, as you get the chance to do some really cool things, like:
· Develop and lead new initiatives for the division
· Shape the annual program conference
· Get to know many new colleagues, both within GDO as well as in other divisions
· Learn how the Academy of Management is run
We also have 3 positions for the Executive Committee (also known as Division Representatives-at-Large). In this role, GDOers chair committees, serve as ambassadors for the division, and provide valuable input to the division leadership on all of our activities.
Please know that we happily welcome self-nominations, so please don't be shy! If you'd like more information about these positions, feel free to contact me or check out the GDO website (http://aom.org/Divisions-and-Interest-Groups/Gender-and-Diversity-in-Organizations/Gender-and-Diversity-in-Organizations-Division.aspx). To nominate, please go to http://apps.aom.org/DivNomination and follow the onscreen instructions to log-in to your Academy profile and then select "Nominate Now." The deadline is February 28, 2017, so please don't delay! And if you think of others who would be great leaders for the GDO division, please name them so that we can put together yet another amazing ballot for the 2017-2018 year.
Thank you in advance for your engagement!
