Dear Colleagues,
The Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology (SIOP) committee for Ethnic and Minority Affairs/Education & Training is seeking mentors for its year-long student mentoring program. Eligible mentors will need to be current members of SIOP, have completed their graduate education, and be working full-time in either academia or practice. We are seeking mentors from many different backgrounds, in terms of interests, experience, gender, race, and ethnicity.
Mentors will be paired with a student (or more than one, if you're interested) based on a match in background and interests, and be asked to meet with their mentee about once per month via telephone, video conference, or in-person to discuss professional development and life after graduation. Then, mentors and mentees will be invited to a reception at the SIOP 2018 conference in Chicago where they can meet in person and get to know other professionals and students.
If you are interested in serving as a mentor and helping a student to navigate the world of industrial-organizational psychology, please contact Enrica Ruggs, chair of the SIOP CEMA/E&T committee (eruggs@uncc.edu).
Thank you,
Enrica Ruggs
