    The 2006 Elizabeth Somers Women's Leadership Forum: Listen, Speak,
    Act!
    will explore the leadership roles that women have as they resolve the
    global and local issues of our times. The workshop will address the
    opportunities women have to impact the direction of global, national,
    and local issues. With this as a focus, the Forum provides a platform
    to review models of womens' leadership and ideas for educating the
    next generation of leaders.

    The day-long Forum includes a keynote speaker, a parallel session of
    peer-reviewed presentations and skill building workshops, a book and
    author luncheon and a closing panel discussion.

    Submissions of academic papers for the parallel session are
    encouraged. Papers should present original research or critical
    analysis. Appropriate topics include models for educating the next
    generation of women leaders; aspects of leadership style as relates to
    gender; women as agents of change; the ethical leader; social and
    cultural challenges to womens' leadership, and common aspects of
    leadership by women across the world.

    Papers from educators as well as students are encouraged.

    The deadline for papers is January 15, 2006 and should be submitted
    online to sheller@gwu.edu. Receipt of submission will be confirmed via
    e-mail.

    Please include
    Presenter name, e-mail address, institution, address, and paper title
    Abstract of 300 words maximum
    Internet and audio-visual requirements necessary for the session
    There is no page limit, but publication of papers will be limited to
    20 minutes.

    Authors will be notified by February 1, 2006
