    Dear GDO Colleagues:

This is just a quick note to update you on the Academy of Management Code of Ethics.  Sometime a while ago, I wrote to the list to mention that the Academy has now promulgated a new Code of Ethics.  There is a substantial portion of this Code that touches on diversity issues, so we as a Division have an interest in it.

At the time that I originally wrote, I indicated that the Academy has adopted the Code of Ethics, and is probably not looking to make changes at this point in time.  I was quite WRONG.  Denise Rousseau recently visited the Southwest Academy of Management meetings as the Academy of Management Representative.  She discussed the new Code of Ethics in the Business Meeting, at which time she indicated that the Academy is quite interested in receiving feedback on the new Code.

The Code of Ethics can be found at the following web address:  http://www.aomonline.org/aom.asp?ID=6&page_ID=240

If you have comments or insights on the new Code, you are invited to share them with Denise Rousseau.  Her e-mail address is:  rousseau@andrew.cmu.edu

Please make sure that you read the Code, as many of the regional associations are beginning to adopt this new Code of Ethics, as well.  I'm sure that with input from the GDO Division, the Code can be made even better.  Thanks!  --  Gayle
