    Call for Nominations for New GDO Award!

     

    2012 Scholarly Contributions to Educational Practice Advancing Women in Leadership Award

    Sponsored by Simmons School of Management/Center for Gender in Organizations

     

    The Gender and Diversity in Organizations Division is pleased to announce a new annual award for outstanding scholarship and educational practice within the Gender and Diversity in Organizations (GDO) domain.

     

    Sponsored by Simmons School of Management/Center for Gender in Organizations, the award will be made to a scholar-teacher who is creating cutting-edge thinking and research that contribute to educational practices that support the advancement of women in leadership.  The work of the award winning scholar-teacher will be grounded in intellectual contributions to research and educational practice in the domain of the GDO Division.  Intellectual contributions include the creation and dissemination of new knowledge in the form of conceptual, applied, empirical and/or theoretical works that contribute to educational practices (including instructional approaches, educational content and materials, and pedagogical innovations) which support the advancement of women in leadership. 

     

    Criteria for consideration include: (1) impact or significance of intellectual contributions on educational practices that support the advancement of women in leadership, (2) the breath or overall scope of the nominee's work with respect to her/his contribution to such educational practices, (3) demonstration of an understanding of the specific benefits of education for women for their empowerment and leadership, and (4) the breadth and depth of educational practices that support the advancement of women in leadership.

     

    The $500 award will be presented for the first time at the Academy of Management meeting in August, 2012 in Boston, MA.

     

    This is a wonderful way to honor your colleagues and recognize important work! For nominations, please send a 2-3 page letter of recommendation outlining the nominee's contributions with respect to the criteria stated above and a copy of the nominee's curriculum vitae.
