ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Virginia Commonwealth University
The Department of Management in the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure track, faculty position in Human Resource Management, effective August 16, 2007, subject to funding availability. The Department offers baccalaureate majors in Business Administration and Management and in Human Resource Management; a Master of Science program in Decision Sciences; a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Human Resource Management, and a Ph.D. in Business/major in Management. In addition, the Department provides instruction in Decision Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Communication, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, and other subjects for the Bachelor of Science in Business, the Master of Business Administration, and the Ph.D. in Business. The Department has 30 full-time faculty. All programs in the School are AACSB accredited. Virginia Commonwealth University enrolls 29,300 students; 3,300 are enrolled in the School of Business.
QUALIFICATIONS
:
An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or Management with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. Candidates must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate survey courses in human resource management. Candidates must also be able to teach courses in at least two of the following areas: compensation, strategic human resource management, international human resource management, labor relations, and employment law. Demonstrated excellence in human resource management scholarly research, or evidence of the ability to publish in peer-reviewed human resource management journals, is required. Preference will be given to candidates with good communication skills, demonstrated commitment to excellence in both teaching and research, and a desire to work collaboratively with colleagues. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States and indicate their citizenship or visa status.
