Dear Colleagues
We are preparing a proposal for the <st1:placetype w:st="on">Academy</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management Conference</st1:placename> in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">South Africa</st1:country-region></st1:place> this January and are seeking another colleague to join us in preparing a submission on the topic of Boundary Spanning Leadership. Joining us are Donna Chrobot-Mason, co-author of Boundary Spanning Leadership: Six practices for solving problems, driving innovation, and transforming organizations. Based on a decade-long research project conducted by the Center for Creative Leadership involving six world regions and a database consisting of over 2,800 surveys and nearly 300 interviews, part of this session will involve a workshop in which participants will have the opportunity to learn how to transform limiting borders into limitless frontiers. Also joining us will be Professor Jonathan Jansen, Vice Chancellor for the University of the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:state w:st="on">Free State</st1:state></st1:place>, noted author, and leader. He was honored by Oprah Winfrey recently for his transformational leadership during a difficult and explosive racial conflict at the University. Finally, joining us will be Dr. Stella Nkomo, an expert in diversity management and leadership. Dr. Nkomo is a Professor in the Department of Human Resource Management at the <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Pretoria</st1:placename>, Pretoria South <st1:place w:st="on">Africa</st1:place>
We are seeking participation from one more colleague who might be able to provide yet another perspective on the broad topic of boundary spanning leadership and are especially interested in finding a colleague who represents another continent and geographic region.
