David Kravitz's message reminded me to call your attention to a journal that may be an appropriate outlet for some of your scholarship. I am currently serving as Editor for
The Psychologist-Manager Journal, which is a publication of the Society of Psychologists in Management (SPIM). The Journal is currently published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates and is indexed in PSYCHLit and listed in Cabell's.
<x-tab> </x-tab>We publish a variety of articles that will be of interest to psychologist-managers or people who train or work with them. As we state in the information for contributors,
TPMJ is "conceptualized as a hybrid between a journal and a professional guide to good managerial practice" and focuses on the applications of psychology to management.
<x-tab> </x-tab>We especially look for good articles that are (a) theoretical papers or applications; (b) case studies; (c) empirical papers or articles concerning tools for research; and (d) book reviews. We also publish special issues and special sections. The most recent example is our 2006, volume 9 (2) issue on Developmental Assessment Centers, focusing on research from the lab of Deborah Rupp at the U of Illinois; this research was supported by the first Doug Bray and Ann Howard Award for research on assessment centers, awarded through the SIOP Foundation.
<x-tab> </x-tab>Information on the Journal and on SPIM is available on our Web site,
www.spim.org Please share this information with colleagues who may wish to publish with us, and do contact me directly if you would like to discuss a possible submission.<x-tab> </x-tab>
