Dear Colleagues (with apologies for cross-postings):

Please join us on Saturday, Aug 4, 2007 11:00AM - 4:00PM for a unique, fun, and informative PDW at this year's Academy meetings.

The "Rocky" Route, an All-Day Careers Event to Revisit the Career of Rocky Balboa (Program Session #156, Sponsor CAR)

The "Rocky" Route will trace Rocky Balboa's humble beginnings from South Philadelphia's Italian Market to the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum which exemplifies the hard work, dedication, and perseverance needed for Rocky's enormous career success.

The following presenters will provide brief, thought-provoking discussions along the route that will enhance the tour and our knowledge of relevant careers concepts:

    Jeff Greenhaus – Work/Life Balance
    Barrie Litzky – Career Aspirations
Stacy McManus – Careers and Social Support
    Joy Schneer – Career Interruptions
    Jon Briscoe – Protean Careers
    Scott Seibert – Comeback Careers
    Michael Arthur – Career/Personal Success

Pre-registered participants will board a bus at the Convention Center at 11 a.m. and be taken to one of the nation's oldest outdoor markets where they will be guided through various cheese shops, Italian delis, and pastry shops.  There will be enough free time for participants to buy themselves lunch at the Italian Market or sample one of Pat's famous cheese steaks (a Philadelphia favorite). The tour will end at the steps of the Art Museum where participants will visit the Rocky statue and take in a view of the city from the top of the Art Museum steps.

The bus will return to the convention center at approximately 4 pm.
Pre-registration is required and the registration fee is $30.00.  The deadline is July 13, 2007.  To register, please visit http://apps.aomonline.org/PDWReg.  Participants are responsible for their own lunch purchase.

We hope to see you there!
