Michigan State University, one of the nation’s preeminent public
research universities, invites nominations and applications for the
position of Director of the School of Labor and Industrial Relations.
The School of Labor and Industrial Relations is a national leader in

offered to the management, labor, academic, and government communities.
The Director is the chief academic and administrative officer of the
School and responsible for the unit’s strategic vision, budgetary
oversight, academic programs, communication with internal and external
constituencies and externally funded research and development. The
School of Labor and Industrial Relations is located within the College

record of scholarship, teaching, and externally sponsored research. They

Ph.D. doctorate or other terminal degree in an appropriate discipline
and a record of achievement sufficient to merit appointment at the rank
of a tenured-full professor within the School.

until a suitable candidate is chosen. The start date for the position is
August 16, 2008. MSU is an affirmative action, equal opportunity
employer. MSU is strongly committed to achieving excellence through
cultural diversity. The university actively encourages applications and
