Yesterday, Argentina (my country) went through a new President's election. Today we got up with the knowledge that the new President is going to be a woman, senator Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. She is going to be the second woman to be President in Argentina, but the first to be elected (the first was vice-president by President Peron's death)
Cristina Fernández will be the 11th. Woman President on the world when she assumes on next December, but what is the most difference that Argentinean's can show to the rest of the world, is that the second candidate best chosen was another woman, Dr. Lilia Carrió, and so 70% of total Argentinean's decided that a woman was a better choice to be President (70% is the total amount of votes received by the President elected and Dra. Carrio as the candidate following her).
This is a consequence of a large fight that women had be facing, and as a consequence of the quota's law (since 1991 is enforced that 1/3 of total politicians candidates should be women), and now Argentinean's are showing, that at least, in one thing, we grown up.
