    74th Annual ASBS Conference - March 18-21, 2009

    Conference Theme
    Transformations in the Social and Behavioral Sciences: Past, Present,
    and Future

    Call for Interdisciplinary Papers and Proposals

    The Annual ASBS Spring conference will be held in Macon, Georgia,
    approximately 80 miles southeast of Atlanta. There are direct flights to
    Macon or shuttles from the Atlanta Airport. The conference site is the
    Ramada Plaza Hotel. After October 15, 2008, reservations may be booked
    at the conference rate by calling 1-800-454-6835 or by contacting the
    hotel directly at 478-746-1461. Feel free to visit the city's Website
    (http://www.macon.com) for information on attractions, tours, and other
    events. The conference's local arrangements co- chair, Dr. Melvin Walker
    (walkerm@fvsu.edu) at Fort Valley State University, may also be
    contacted for additional information about the site. All program
    participants must register for the conference. Additional conference
    registration information can be found at http://www.asbsofjcs.org.

    The submission deadline for single papers, cases, and abstracts is
    December 8, 2008. However, proposals for sessions and chairs are due
    October 1, 2008. To submit papers, cases or sessions for the 2009-ASBS
    conference, please follow these guidelines:


    Proposals for Papers (Due 12/8/2008)
    Please submit a one-page abstract of 100 - 250 words along with a
    separate cover page containing the paper's title, the name(s) and
    affiliation(s) of the author(s), and a maximum of three key topic words
    in Microsoft Word. Authors are encouraged to submit full manuscripts
    with a 25-page maximum for future publication consideration in the ASBS
    Journal, which is listed in Cabell's Directory. These manuscripts must
    not be under review or published elsewhere. Refer to ASBS website
    (http://www.asbsofjcs.org) for additional conference information.
    Proposals for Sessions (Due 10/1/2008)
    Session chairs are sought for topics that explore the business,
    cultural, economics, historical, political, psychological and
    sociological areas related to the conference theme. Persons planning to
    chair sessions should e-mail completed session chair forms (available at
    http://www.asbsofjcs.org) to the conference program chair. Persons
    interested in developing sessions on topics other than those listed
    should submit to the conference chair a one-page outline of sub-themes,
    paper topics, names and locations of at least three presenters and one
    discussant.
