I would like to put together a symposium on longitudinal research in
Careers and career-related OB and HR issues. At the end of most research
articles, there is a call for longitudinal research. This symposium
would provide a showcase for researchers who have attempted to answer
this call. My colleagues – Frieda Reitman, Corinne Post, dt ogilvie, and
I have a 20 year longitudinal study of the career paths of men and women
MBAs that we would present in this symposium. We examine the career
success of men and women over time and the factors that influence that
success. If you have a longitudinal study and would like to be included
in the symposium, please send me an email and tell me a little about
your research. Once I get a sense of the responders’ studies and how
they intersect, I will write the proposal intro and send it to everyone.
I will then need a 2-5 page synopsis for each presentation by early
January so I have enough time to get it all together for submission.
