"United's Friendly Skies: The gay community boycott of United Airlines officially ended last week when the company agreed to become the first airline to offer same-sex domestic-partner benefits, going even further than the court ordered"

This title graced the front page of a local Chicago lgbt weekly, "Outlines" August 4, 1999, when the AoM meetings were last held in the Windy City just one decade ago.

    Workshop Abstract

Research on sexual orientation and transgender issues in the workplace presents unique challenges to management scholars across the globe.  This session is designed to provide the growing number of researchers that are conducting work on these topics with an opportunity to connect, discuss their ideas, and receive support from their colleagues. The workshop will consist of two rounds of panel presentations and interactive discussion.  The first round will focus on the direction(s) taken by LGBTQ research and the theoretical lenses that inform that research.  The second round will focus on more specific research projects and ideas examining current and emerging research topics on LGBTQ workplace experiences -- theoretical contributions, research design, and more.  We aim to provide a space for learning and networking that will facilitate future research on gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (GLBTQ) issues in the workplace.

    Registration (recommended)

While registration is not required, we would appreciate to know if you are planning to attend.  Please register for this workshop on-line at https://secure.aomonline.org/PDWReg (by July 10th) or with the workshop organizers at r.trau@psy.uq.edu.au or ophir@yorku.ca (any time before August 7th).

    Looking forward to your participation!

    See you in Chicago...
