    We are seeking candidates for the Dean of the College of Business at Colorado State University. Feel free to contact (Lynn.Shore@business.colostate.edu) if you have an interest or there is someone who you would like to nominate. Below is the position description.

     

    Dean, College of Business

    Colorado State University invites applications and nominations for the Dean of the College of Business. The Dean reports to the Provost/Senior Vice President, serving as the chief academic and spokesperson for the college for curriculum, personnel, and budget issues. The Dean will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Business faculty to make a difference in tangible ways – from the research faculty conducts, to the way knowledge is transferred to the classroom and beyond.

    The College of Business is ranked as one of the top undergraduate and graduate business programs in the country - #73 on Bloomberg Business Week's rankings of public and private undergraduate business programs; #31 on the US News And World Report rankings of Part-time MBA programs.  With very strong research productivity across its various disciplines, the College of Business is AACSB-accredited at the undergraduate and graduate levels and serves approximately 2,300 resident undergraduate business majors, 1,900 resident undergraduate business minors, and 360 resident graduate students enrolled in Professional MBA, Executive MBA, Global Social & Sustainable Enterprise MBA, Early Career MBA, Master of Accountancy, Master of Financial Risk Management, Master of Management Practice, Master of Computer Information Systems graduate programs.  Additionally, the College is one of the early pioneers in distance delivered academic programs that serves approximately 1,850 distance graduate students enrolled in the Online Professional MBA and Master of Computer Information Systems programs.

    Minimum Qualifications

    ·         A terminal degree (e.g. PhD, DBA, JD).

    ·         A record of achievement in academia, industry or government commensurate with appointment as a tenured full professor in business.

    ·         A clear commitment to academic excellence and demonstrated leadership in undergraduate or graduate education, scholarly activities or research at the administrative level of dean, department head, program director, or equivalent, including personnel and fiscal management experience.

    ·         Proven ability to effectively lead change with the interpersonal skills to work collegially with staff, faculty, and educators within, and beyond the university.

    ·         A demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, revenue growth opportunities.

    ·         A commitment to high standards and professional integrity.

    Desired Qualifications

    ·         Experience in fundraising and securing external support.

    ·         Demonstrated success in implementation of strategic initiatives across organizational levels. 

    ·         Familiarity with AACSB accreditation (working knowledge preferred).

    ·         Demonstration of personal or professional commitment to diversity and inclusion as demonstrated by persistent effort, active planning, allocation of resources and/or accountability for diversity outcomes.

    ·         Personal qualities that will facilitate open and participatory relationships with the University community and external constituencies.

    ·         Excellent organizational, planning, supervisory, and problem-solving skills.
