Term Faculty, Management (School of Business)
The George Mason University, School of Business Management Area has a Term Faculty appointment for a qualified individual to teach general management, organizational behavior (OB), and human resources (HR) courses starting August 2015. Although the initial appointment is for one academic year, the position is renewable on an annual basis, contingent on budget considerations and faculty performance. Fall semester classes begin August 31, 2015.
Responsibilities:
The position's duties include teaching (weighted 75 percent) and service (25 percent) activities. The teaching load for this position is four courses per semester (fall and spring). Initially, the individual will teach a large class on general management and will supervise the Graduate Teaching Assistants for that class. Subsequent teaching assignments may include other OB courses and possibly occasional HR courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Service may be to the Management Area, the school, the university and the profession.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. by August 2015, and either the business education or business experience needed to fulfill the teaching responsibilities. Preference will be given to candidates with: a. general management, OB and/or HR teaching experience; b. distance/online teaching experience; c. supervisory experience; and d. business experience. The successful candidate will provide evidence of a willingness to provide service, as well as collegiality and adaptability. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
