We invite you to consider researching and writing an MBA Case Study on a LGBT topic suitable for use in MBA classrooms through the 2010 Reaching Out MBA Case Writing Competition. It takes an investment of time and energy but the payoff (both financial and psychic) is considerable. Students, alumni, and faculty who've taken this on in the past have said that it was a very rich learning opportunity and a great item to share in interviews with employers.

We fund 6 teams of authors at $1,500 each to write and research an MBA level case on a topic related to LGBT issues in the workplace. One of these six is later awarded an additional $3,500 for excellence. All of the cases, if strongly written enough, are placed in the Reaching Out Case Library with the European Case Clearing House. We are especially interested in cases that are also appropriate for the case contest which takes place at the Reaching Out conference each year. The 2010 Conference will be held October 14 to 17 in Los Angeles and educators, in particular, are invited to attend.

Visit: http://reachingoutmba.org/get_involved/case_writing_competition for more information about the contest, and to see a list of the current holdings in the Reaching Out Case Library.

Join us for an informational conference call on Sunday November 15 at 8:00 pm Eastern/5:00 pm Pacific. The dial in for this call is: 906-481-2100 and the code is 122812.

Abstracts of what you'd like to research and write are due by Friday November 20 but you will have until March 30, 2010 to complete the entire case if your topic is selected. For more information contact schramm_jd@gsb.stanford.edu or 650-723-3728.

If you're not interested in participating but know colleagues or students who would be interested, please forward this email to them. Thank You!
