Greetings all,
Was there really only one good diversity-related journal article published in 2009? I know that's the view of some people, but I would have expected the GDO membership to have a more positive opinion of our work. Unfortunately, the response to my previous calls for nominations suggests that none of us think any good diversity articles were published in 2009. I prefer to conclude that everyone has been insanely busy and the deadline zoomed by without your noticing it. Also, I believe there have been some problems with receipt of messages - my apologies.
If you do not believe that our field is stagnant - if you can identify any solid diversity-related journal articles published in 2009 - please send me the reference within the next six days. The deadline for nominations was March 15, but we can extend it for a week to March 22.
The Saroj Parasuraman Award is presented annually by the Gender and Diversity in Organizations Division to the individual or individuals who published the best journal article in the field of gender and diversity in the calendar year preceding the award (2009). The intent of the award is to highlight scholarly activity in the field of gender and diversity and to encourage further scholarly activity within our field.
Please send your nomination(s) to David Kravitz at DKravitz@gmu.edu. All I need is the citation – there is no need for you to provide a nomination letter or justification for why the article(s) should be considered for the award.
Cheers,
David
Chair, Saroj Parasuraman Award
p.s. Please forward this to other scholars who are (or should be) member of the GDO Division, but may not be on the listserve.
