The Department of Management at St. Cloud State University is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Management (tenure track) starting August 2016. The Notice of Vacancy is attached. The normal teaching load for Scholarly Academics (or AQ) at SCSU is three classes in the Fall and three classes in the Spring (3/3 load) with two preps.

| Description: | St. Cloud State University seeks applications for a probationary (tenure-track) Assistant Professor of Management in the Management Department of the Herberger Business School beginning Fall semester 2016. In addition to eight undergraduate majors, the School offers an MBA and a Master of Science in Information Assurance. The School has been continuously accredited for more than 35 years by AACSB International. |
| Responsibilities: | Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Human Resource Management, Employee Labor Relations, and/or Employee Compensation. Potential to teach other courses in the Department. Potential to teach courses in the MBA program. Conduct and publish research in Human Resource Management and related Management topics in peer-reviewed journals. Present research in conferences. Advise students, serve as advisor to SHRM student chapter, and provide service to the department, School, and university through participation in standing and ad-hoc committees and workgroups. Contribute to the achievement of all departmental goals. In order to be considered for tenure, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to: 1) teach and/or perform assignment effectively; 2) conduct scholarly achievement or research; 3) continue preparation and study in discipline; 4) contribute to student growth and development; and 5) provide service to the university and community. | Qualifications and experience: | Required: · Doctorate in Human Resource Management, Industrial and Labor Relations, or related field from a regionally accredited university. Advanced ABDs will be considered (must be able to show proof of doctoral degree by appointment date). · Evidence of recent publications in peer-reviewed journals. ABDs and new Ph.D. graduates may use conference presentations, current working papers as evidence of their ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals. · Ability to teach and work effectively with students, departmental colleagues, and others from culturally diverse backgrounds. Preferred: · Doctorate in Management, Human Resource Management, Industrial and Labor Relations, or related field from an AACSB-accredited university. · Recent teaching experience (with student evaluations) in human resource management and related areas at a four-year university. · Evidence of active research stream. As part of the interviewing process, candidates invited to an on-campus interview will be required to demonstrate teaching effectiveness and will be evaluated by the Search Committee and other interested Management faculty. Candidates will also be required to present a current research project. |
