First of all, thank you to all of you who responded to our initial call for informal mentors.  We got a great response and even a few folks who can't commit this year but have expressed an interest for next year.  We are still looking for more mentors.  If I may be so bold, we have none on our list that represent our international members so it would be wonderful if we could secure a few more international mentors to meet the needs of some of our international doctoral students.

Below is the information for the session.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me (rberkle@siue.edu) or Joy Beatty (jebeatty@umd.umich.edu).

    **************************************************************************************

Greetings GDO members.  As coordinators of the GDO Doctoral Consortium, Joy Beatty and I are looking for 20 division members who are interested in serving as internal mentors during our session on Saturday, August 7th, 2010 at the Sheraton in Montreal.

According to our agenda, the informal mentoring opportunity is listed as follows:

    Session 4:  GDO Member Match Exercise (11:30 - 12:00)
Consortium attendees will be assigned GDO members to be their "buddy" for the remainder of the conference to provide informal mentorship opportunities

We will provide each mentoring pair a $10 gift card for Starbucks to facilitate meeting some time during the meeting.  If you are interested in serving, please contact me (rberkle@siue.edu) or Joy Beatty (jebeatty@umd.umich.edu).
