The term of Professor Vishwanath Baba as Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences (CJAS), published by Wiley Blackwell, expires on December 31, 2016. CJAS has been hosted by the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, for the last 10 years. The following is a call for bids for Professor Baba's successor as Editor-in-Chief. The term is for three to five years, renewable.

CJAS is the long-standing journal of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC),whose mission is to advance scholarship, teaching, and practice in the administrative sciences in Canada. As the premier journal of business administration in Canada, housing such a publication will enhance the reputation of the host institution as one that is committed to innovative scholarship and fostering knowledge.

CJAS is a multidisciplinary business journal accepting conceptual and empirical papers written in either English or French, with a disciplinary structure comprised of Strategy; International Business; Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management; Marketing; Finance; Accounting; and Interdisciplinary Studies. It is the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief to appoint a team of Editors for these Divisions and to ensure uniformity in format and standards of manuscripts published in CJAS.

The ASAC Board has appointed a committee to conduct a search for a new Editor-in-Chief and a new hosting university. The deadline for nomination is April 15, 2016. The selection committee plans to have a new Editor-in-Chief selected by June 1, 2016, allowing six months for transitioning the journal to its new host university. The Editor in Chief becomes a member of the ASAC board for the duration of his/her term.

CJAS is an international journal with an acceptance rate of 16%, is listed on Thomson's Web of Knowledge, and ranked among Herzing's journal quality list. CJAS receives close to 250 submissions yearly, 75% of which are from outside Canada. Since its time at the DeGroote School of Business, CJAS has seen a 400% increase in its impact factor. The incoming Editor-in-Chief is expected to build on the growth of the journal in terms of journal influence and quality. His/her selection will be based on scholarly stature, including past editorial experience, his/her vision for CJAS, and on the infrastructure of support offered by the bidding university.

Candidates for the position of Editor-in-Chief are asked to submit with their bid: (a) a critical but constructive evaluation of the current state of CJAS; (b) their vision for the journal, with a list of objectives they intend to pursue; (c) a statement of the nature and level of support being committed by their university. Historically, the hosting university has provided funding to hire a Managing Editor (28 hours/weekly), provisions of office space and office equipment for the Managing Editor (computer, printer, fax machine, phone), and course release for the Editor-in-Chief.

Applications should be submitted to ASAC President David Wicks (david.wicks@smu.ca). Questions prior to the submission of an application can be directed to the CJAS office (cjas@mcmaster.ca).
