    Call for Papers:

    LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE AND GENDER SYMPOSIUM

    Purdue University

    March 29-30, 2016

Deadline for Submission: November 15, 2015

The purpose of the "Leadership Excellence and Gender Symposium" is to bring attention to cutting edge research and evidence-based practice on the creation and sustainment of work, organizational, management, and occupational environments to support gender and occupational equality, leader excellence and career success in organizations. This Inaugural Leadership Excellence and Gender in Organizations Symposium organized by the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence and the Krannert School of Management with partners from Purdue, other universities, corporations and policy experts.

It has been well documented that women remain underrepresented in leadership positions in many employment settings and occupations.  Further, organizational, employment and human resource strategies to promote gender equality, career success and life well-being are evolving and often have a research to practice gap. Our goal is to help build, create and support a community of scholars across disciplines, and submissions from all fields and disciplines are welcome who would like to advance knowledge on the issue of gender and leadership excellence from an organizational perspective. We are especially interested in research that focuses on new developments related to organizational change and studies that have not yet been published or accepted for publication.  For a list of types of sessions and suggested topics please see: http://www.krannert.purdue.edu/events/leadership-excellence-and-gender/submissions.php

The conference is designed to advance knowledge through a combination of plenary sessions by innovative thought leaders, small group discussions for work-in-progress or specialized topics, and translation sessions on research to practice. Confirmed speakers include Dr. Belle Rose Ragins, Professor University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Lubin School of Business and Editor of Academy of Management Review, Dr. Kimberly Eddleston, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Northeastern University and, Dr. Denise Lewin Loyd, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Dr. Kelly Mack, Vice President and Executive Director, Project Kaleidoscope, Office of Undergraduate Science Education (STEM), AAC&U.   Best conference papers will also have the opportunity to submit their paper for consideration to a special issue of Human Resource Management http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/hrm in June 2016 & other conference publications are planned.

The symposium will take place March 29-30 at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with a pre-symposium opening panel followed by reception the evening of March 28. If you are interested in participating, please submit a 1200-word abstract to the following link excluding references, by November 15, 2015 but earlier submissions are strongly encouraged as space is limited.  http://www.krannert.purdue.edu/events/leadership-excellence-and-gender/submission-form.php   .For all general enquiries, please contact: Sherry Fisher at fishe120@purdue.edu
