Dear Friends and Colleagues (sorry about the cross-posting)
It is my pleasure to introduce you to what I believe is a very unique
special feature we just published in the Journal of Business and Psychology
(edited by Allan Church). It is a feature designed to help bridge the
science and practice of IO/OB/HR. More specifically, each article presents a
highly salient and topical practice issue. Then, for each topic, a research
agenda is outlined. The research agenda is not driven by theory per se, but
instead it is driven by the applied needs of practitioners dealing with
these issues on a day to day basis. In other words, this is the research
that practitioners are hoping they can inspire academics to pursue in order
to advance practice in a meaningful way. Overall, it is our small attempt
to help bring the scientific and practice communities closer together to
promote evidence based management.
