Calling all GDO Doctoral Consortium Mentors...!

We are repeating our successful mentor match for the 2011 GDO Doctoral Consortium.  At this time we are asking for volunteers...we have 20 students and will need 20 mentors to make the mentor match work.  We have included an extra bonus this year...in order to maximize time with your doctoral student, the Doctoral Consortium is providing lunch for both mentor and student.  This will be on Saturday, August 13 from 11:30 to 1pm in the Grand Hyatt, Lone Star A.  Below is the excerpt from our schedule.

    Session 5:  GDO Member Match Luncheon (11:30 – 1:00)

Consortium attendees will be assigned GDO members to be their "buddy" for the remainder of the conference  to provide informal mentorship opportunities

Along with providing lunch, we want to move towards making more meaningful mentor matches for all participants.  If you are interested in being a mentor, we would ask you to respond with your area of interest, both teaching and research, so we can better match you to a student in a similar area.

Thank you to all of last year's mentors...you made the program a smashing success and we only look to improve upon last years endeavor.

I look forward to seeing all of you in San Antonio!  One more month before the Consortium!

    Cheers...Robyn Berkley & Lisa Nishii
