    Dear Colleagues,
You are invited to a PDW on the State of Management Knowledge and Education in Africa.

State of Management Education and Scholarship in Africa: Enlightenment for the East and West Africa Management Scholarship
    Date: August 12, 2011
    Day: Friday
    Time: 8am – 11:30am
    Hotel: Grand Hyatt
    Room: Lone Star A
Abstract: The Africa Academy of Management (AFAM) invites AOM members to participate in this PDW on “The Landscape of Management Education and State of Scholarship in Africa: Enlightenment for the East and West.”The theme of this year’s meeting, ‘East Meets West’, suggests the meeting of opposite sides of the world. Yet, it should not be forgotten that Africa lies between them not only geographically but also as an important emerging market. Therefore, the intent of the PDW is to share with members the state of management education and scholarship in Africa with the intent of exposing them to unique opportunities for research and supporting management education on the continent. We hope to connect AOM members with interests in Africa and to make them aware of a new group, the Africa Academy of Management which has the objective of promoting management research and education in Africa.
